RAASTA (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is developed by CETQAP (Centre of Excellence for Technology, Quantum and AI — Pakistan). This Privacy Policy explains what information RAASTA collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information (if you sign in with Google): your name, email address, and profile photo, used to identify your account and sync your settings across devices.
- Information you provide: your name and phone number, so a Madadgar (volunteer helper) you contact can identify and call you back; emergency contact names and phone numbers you choose to add; an optional profile photo; Community Pin submissions (a location, a safety status, and an optional note); Madadgar registration, including your approximate location while registered as an active volunteer.
- Location information: your device’s GPS location, used only to show your current position on the map, evaluate nearby safety advisories, and — if you choose to use the Emergency Feature — include a location link in the message you send.
- Information we do not collect: we do not access your SMS messages, call logs, or contacts list. The Emergency Feature opens your phone’s own SMS app, WhatsApp, or dialer with a message pre-filled — you choose whether and when to send it.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above only to operate the App’s core features, sync your settings across devices, moderate Community Pin and Madadgar submissions before they go live, and send push notifications about active safety advisories. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models.
3. Third-Party Services
RAASTA uses:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging)
- Google Sign-In
- WhatsApp / your device’s SMS app / phone dialer (only when you actively choose to use the Emergency Feature)
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim for place lookups
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Community Pin submissions are retained for the historical safety record, but are not linked back to your identity once your account is deleted.
5. Your Rights: Account & Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time from Account → Delete Account inside the App. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
If you can’t access the App, email info@thecetqap.com with the email or phone number tied to your account, and we will delete it within 30 days.
6. Children’s Privacy
RAASTA is intended for users aged 18 and older, or minors using the App under the supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts our Terms on their behalf.
7. Data Security
We use Firebase’s security infrastructure and access-controlled database rules to protect your data. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
